Eating disorders are complex mental health conditions involving distressing relationships with food, body image, and control. They are not choices or phases—they are serious medical conditions that deserve comprehensive, nonjudgmental care.
At VP Mindcare, we provide psychiatric support for individuals navigating eating disorders, disordered eating patterns, or body image concerns as part of a holistic treatment team.
Anorexia Nervosa: Intense fear of weight gain, restrictive eating, and significant weight loss
Bulimia Nervosa: Bingeing followed by purging, excessive exercise, or restriction
Binge Eating Disorder (BED): Eating large amounts of food with a sense of loss of control
Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)
Orthorexia: Obsessive focus on "healthy" eating, often causing malnutrition or distress
Disordered Eating: Emotional eating, chronic dieting, body dysmorphia, or obsessive food tracking
Preoccupation with food, weight, or body image
Shame or secrecy around eating habits
Restriction, bingeing, purging, or ritualistic food behaviors
Physical signs like fatigue, dizziness, digestive issues, or missed periods
Mood changes, irritability, or co-occurring anxiety and depression
At VP Mindcare, we provide:
Psychiatric evaluation and diagnosis
Medication management for co-occurring conditions like depression, anxiety, or OCD
Close coordination with your therapist, dietitian, or treatment team
Gentle psychoeducation on brain-body-nutrition relationships
Support for recovery goals, whether full remission or symptom reduction
We do not provide inpatient or meal-support services, but we are a trusted partner for outpatient care and long-term stability.
While no medication can "cure" an eating disorder, many individuals benefit from antidepressants, anxiolytics, or medications that reduce obsessive thoughts, support mood regulation, or aid in managing binge/purge urges.
We carefully consider weight neutrality and metabolic side effects when prescribing.

Do you treat eating disorders directly?
We provide psychiatric support as part of a larger treatment team. We are not a stand-alone eating disorder center, but we work closely with therapists and dietitians to support recovery.
Can I work with you if I’ve already been through treatment?
Yes. We often support clients after IOP, PHP, or residential care who need ongoing medication management and psychiatric follow-up.
What if I’m not sure I have an eating disorder, but I struggle with food?
You don’t need a diagnosis to get help. If food, weight, or body image are impacting your life, we’re here to listen and help you find the right next step.
