Psychotherapy—often referred to as “talk therapy”—is a powerful tool for addressing emotional distress, trauma, thought patterns, and behavioral habits. It offers a space for healing, reflection, and skill-building. At VP Mindcare, while we do not provide in-house therapy, we strongly believe in its value and actively support therapy as part of a comprehensive mental health plan.
VP Mindcare specializes in psychiatric evaluation and medication management. We collaborate closely with therapists, counselors, and other mental health professionals to ensure your care is cohesive and well-supported.
We can:
Refer you to trusted therapists or therapy groups
Coordinate care with your current therapist (with consent)
Adjust medications to support therapy goals
Reinforce coping tools discussed in therapy
You’re processing trauma, grief, or life transitions
You want to develop coping strategies for anxiety or depression
You’re exploring your identity or relationships
You need structured support for OCD, ADHD, eating disorders, or mood swings
You feel “stuck” and want a space to talk through emotions
While we don’t offer these modalities directly, we regularly refer to and work alongside therapists who provide:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP)
Trauma-informed therapy (e.g. EMDR)
Psychodynamic and insight-based therapy
Couples or family therapy
We tailor psychiatric support to align with your therapy goals.
Many patients benefit from combining therapy with medication. While medication may stabilize symptoms, therapy can help address the root causes, build insight, and provide long-term coping strategies. Our providers understand how these tools complement each other and will adjust your treatment accordingly.

Can I see you if I already have a therapist?
Absolutely. Many of our patients are referred by their therapists or seek psychiatric support to complement their ongoing therapy.
Can you refer me to a therapist?
Yes. We maintain a referral list of trusted therapists and will work to find someone who aligns with your needs, preferences, and insurance status.
What if I’m not ready for therapy?
That’s okay. We’ll meet you where you are. If and when you feel ready to begin therapy, we’re here to help support that step.
